Plate Rolling Machine Related Trivia

Plate rolling machine classified by working roll quantity and adjustment form

As a special machine, rolling machine occupies an important position in industrial basic processing. Most steel is formed into cylinders and needs to be rolled by rolling mill. According to different requirements, it can roll out steel columns that meet the requirements and is a practical equipment. Currently, we generally classify rolling mills according to the number of working rolls and adjustment forms: 1. Three-roll rolling mill: including symmetrical three-roll rolling mill, asymmetrical three-roll rolling mill, horizontal descending three-roll rolling mill, inclined descending three-roll rolling mill, arc descending three-roll rolling mill and vertical descending three-roll rolling mill, etc. 2. Four-roll rolling mill: divided into side roll inclined adjustment four-roll rolling mill and side roll arc adjustment four-roll rolling mill. 3. Special purpose rolling mill: including vertical rolling mill, ship rolling mill, double roll rolling mill, cone rolling mill, multi-roll rolling mill and multi-purpose rolling mill, etc.

Application of plate rolling machine

Rolling is the process of continuously bending plate material using a rolling mill. When rolling with a rolling mill, the plate is placed between the upper and lower working rolls. The upper roll moves up and down vertically, and the two lower rolls rotate and move horizontally relative to the axis of the upper roll. When the upper roll descends, the plate undergoes plastic deformation between the upper and lower working rolls and bends. The lower roll continuously rotates and drives the steel plate to advance and retreat through the friction force between the plate and the roll, completing the rolling process. Rolling mill is suitable for bending metal plates and can be used to roll circular, arc-shaped and conical workpieces within a certain range, and has the function of pre-bending the end of the plate. Rolling mills have different types and categories depending on their fields of use. Rolling mills are divided into three-roll rolling mills and four-roll rolling mills according to the number of rolls. They can roll metal plates into circular, arc-shaped and conical workpieces within a certain range.

Working capacity of plate rolling machine

Rolling machine is a mechanical equipment used to roll steel plates into cylindrical or conical tube bodies. This equipment is widely used in the mechanical manufacturing industry. The improvement of the production efficiency, the reduction of energy consumption, and the cost reduction of three-roll rolling mills play a crucial role in the economic benefits of enterprises.

The working capacity of rolling machine refers to the ability of the plate to roll the smaller diameter of the small roll when the plate is rolled according to the specified yield limit for the maximum thickness and width of the large plate in a cold state. Cold rolling has high precision and easy operation process, but it has higher requirements for the quality of the plate (such as no defects such as gaps and cracks) and good consistency of metallographic structure. When rolling a large plate thickness or a smaller bending radius exceeds the working capacity of the equipment, the hot rolling method can be adopted on the premise allowed by the equipment. For some plates that do not allow cold rolling and have poor rigidity in hot rolling, the warm rolling method is adopted.
